Faded Envy and Indistinct Ideals, it's a fancy name for a fancy game. This is from the maker of Honyarara, and a lot of this feels like a continuation of the style developed there, so I would recommend this if you liked that one.
Faded Envy is set throughout 5 stages and 3 bosses. Each stage presents a new challenge for the player, usually due to the inclusion of a new themed gimmick. The first stage involves wind, the next rising acid water, while others involve gravity flipping or cherries you must shoot. Once again, if you played Honyarara, you know this maker knows what they're doing when it comes to gimmick platforming; it's a crisp and raw experience often accompanied by making the player think considerably. The bosses of Faded Envy are some of the most impactful fights you'll find at this difficulty level, they're extremely chaotic and will quickly litter your screen with bullets galore. They honestly felt like playing the white phase of a destination boss but as the entire length of the fight, and each attempt is rather swift making it feel a lot more tasteful. Now if you're familiar with the maker's history, you'll also recognize an extremely fun final stage from one of their other games return as a "B Side", this was actually incredibly neat and once again a wonderful stage.
I do admittedly believe that the traps of this game actually drag it down much more than Honyarara. A lot of them are at the end of saves, a lot are pretty repetitive, and not many of them are actually funny. I'm a fan of traps, but here they feel like unnecessary ways to bloat your playtime. I don't really like when a game feels as if it would just be better if modded to remove all the traps, but I do think this is actually one of those; the game is already great without them, why drag it down?
In the end, Faded Envy and Indistinct Ideals is still a pretty solid adventure game. If you like chaotic bosses that want to go absolutely ape shit on you, then you definitely should pick this up. It's a worthy follow-up to the great Honyarara, looking forward to whatever comes next as well.

New Weegee is one of the most exciting 2022 releases that nobody expected at all. It's been years since the old version was first shown to the community, but now here it is almost a decade later in a complete form, and it's going to knock your fucking socks off.
Weegee is an extremely long Adventure game with a load of variety to carry it the entire way. The game has over 15 different stages in it, most of which come with their own bosses, and all of them have a different level of gameplay designed to keep the player entertained but also on their toes. One minute you're dealing with platforms that are carried by spider string, another time you'll be shooting orbs to flip your gravity. A major factor that I really appreciate about this game is that Trigger has proven you can make single jump gameplay incredibly fun, and surprisingly gets a lot of mileage out of it too. Other neat factors involve 3 unique items you get that serve as cool gimmicks, each time you unlock one the game feels like it evolves just a little bit more as the platforming becomes even cooler. On that note, I'd say in general this game has some of the best platforming segments of any fangame. The bosses were pretty neat too, they usually involve gimmick usage as well in order to make each of them unique and interesting.
There are some aspects of the game, despite my 10 rating, that I do think could use some improvement anyways in order to bring up the general quality and help others who have struggled. Reveal Spoiler First, there are two bosses I would say are quite problematic: The small swords boss is kind of tedious when you have to go through the first phase every single time, also on the account of them having too many attacks you can't deal damage in. The bird boss was also pretty rough because the gust attack was actually just incredibly difficult compared to everything else and truly distasteful. For platforming, I would say that once multiple gimmicks became involved it felt like playing DDR on my keyboard, which was actually just pretty terrible to play. Grandmaster's Path first two saves were by far the worst things in the game and should either have some sort of save point or be nerfed (especially the hook shot cancel on the right side of the second screen). Also, I would recommend turning the lighting brightness a bit higher by default, and because I went most of the game not realizing you could change it maybe make the hold button press to toggle by default as well. Finally, Boo Kart, I've seen basically nobody have a solid time with it, myself included, because the handling on it is absolutely awful; I only even managed to beat it by committing to throwing the first map since it felt way harder than the rest. These comments are mainly just suggestions in case an eventual update is planned to fix more stuff, but the game is completely playable even if not done.
Overall, I think New Weegee is one of the best contenders for Fangame of the Year, and easily one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences I've had. It took years to make, but the wait was absolutely worth it because this game is one of the absolute monoliths of our community.

This is a pretty damn solid needle game with a lot of variety in the design style. I found it pretty enjoyable, especially some of the side path stuff, and also respect it for being a great atmospheric work.
The game takes place over a hub path that breaks off into various side paths, each of those containing a few stages. Each of the stages within the game is pretty short, usually consisting of just a few saves, but they're all completely different from each other in terms of both design and aesthetics. I really enjoyed some of these quite a bit, especially AV' House as well as Abyss, but the other stages are pretty cool as well. It's worth noting that the gimmick tag being used is technically accurate but still extremely minimal so don't be scared off since most of this is standard needle.
Overall, I think this is definitely Avgustine's best work, and I would absolutely recommend it to people looking for an excellent Needle game to play. Special props to the death effects as well.

Usually, when I play an Adventure game it's to stop an unstoppable hunger inside myself, but this game really just made me hungrier instead. You'll have to find out for yourself what I mean.
The game basically serves as a Needleventure game featuring a handful of interesting gimmicks. Some of these you might be familiar with from other Wookie games, such as glass spikes that break and throw shards around if you shoot them, or acid barrels that splash on boxes melting them. The new ones also add a level of variety to the screens, especially one that changes how you'll view the area around you. I liked these gimmicks mostly, though I did find some of their usage a bit repetitive, especially the red kill-blocks.
After you finish the first hub you'll reach a second, these are stages that all end with bosses and they're all vastly different from each other. One of them for example is a pretty solid avoidance that gives the player HP. Another one works as a traditional shoot boss, while the third is basically also an avoidance mostly. Now the fourth boss (it's worth noting you can do them in any order) involves using two of the new gimmicks in an incredibly awkward way, I really disliked this fight and malded quite a bit at it; this fight is probably the main reason my rating isn't higher.
Outside of one of the bosses, I found the majority of the game to be pretty decent so would definitely recommend it still. It has quite an atmosphere and style to it that makes it incredibly unique and worth checking out.
