Some of my ratings can be outdated, especially ones that before 2022, because back then my knowledge of various things in fangames was limited as well as understanding of my own difficulty scale
My ratings based on how fun and interesting the game was for what it is
Worth of noting that i'm completionist. If i start the game i would like to clear it eventually and i'm gaining same amount of positive from fact i've beated something as from playing something. I usually refrain from giving ratings to game that i didn't clear

Words can't describe how much production value this game has. Every stage is blow imagination in that terms. This is definitely the greatest thing about fifth marathon adventure - it's just almost not fangame anymore, but solid game at this point. I also like plot here, it was delivered very well, and how this game basically is sequel of original Guy - ambitious, but man it was worth it; i applause to makers for their bravery and soul they invested in this game
Unfortunately, there were some downsides. Gameplay in many stages was kinda lacking of interesting things. I really don't like that i need to say it, but i just didn't have fun in some places of the game at all. I guess i just need describe every stage, as i used to at this point
Goemon - while nothing really bad happens here, nothing really great to say as well. This stage full of awkward platforming filling with some strange enemies and very primitive usage of cart (triple jump) gimmick. I kinda like vibe of this stage tho. Also this stage introduces ZOOM, which will be quite curse for almost entire game (yeah, i hater of zoomed fangames). Boss was dumb, but alright
Wario - by far worst stage in the game. Strange gimmicks, that are just not really works for me, quite boring and awkward level-design with meh enemies. Probably the only interesting thing here was Wario trap at the end. Boss was actually terrible, very slow-paced and unfun in general. Backtrack part was okay, but it was slighly too heavy on trial and error, which was not great. Overall, unenjoyable
Klonoa - things starting get better here. Instead of irritating zoom here will be pleasant 3D world filled with some creatures, that can be used to clean your way and also to get additional jump. I actually had fun with this stage, even tho it was still kinda primitive overall. I do kinda hate final save, it was very hard compared to previous ones, which was unpleasantly surpising. Boss was good, slow pace here not really ruined it for me
PaRappa - okay, finally for some bangers. This is very very very catchy short stage based on some old rhythm game, that was carefully remaded here. You just simply can't not fall in love with this stage, it was very nice comedic change of pace after dragging first stages and i despite not dying here even once, actually enjoyed this way more than previous stages. I actually wish makers used things like this - short attractive fillers - more in their adventures
Sonic - back to zoom, but this time it will be quite fun. Good stage imo, enemies are way more interesting than in first three stages, cycles saves also pretty decent and overall vibe of this stage is on point. Also, omg, soundtrack of this stage is so fucking awesome. Final boss aka chase segment was not hard, which is really nice touch, because i didn't like long learny scrolling segments. Ending was cute, overall solid stage
Monkey Ball - oh boy, this will be far different than any platforming that you possible meet in fangames. It's implemented Monkey Ball thing, where you control bounce bubble Kid with only left and right, and you need to get through various obstacles. I can say, the gimmick works insanely well with fangames 1-life thing, and overall design of this stage is fucking top notch. Every single level is not like another one, they are all enjoyable on their kind, references are awesome, bonus rooms are hella fun, soundtrack is life. Actually great stuff, i love it
Gunstar - this was not like mind-blowingly great, but it was still fun. I really like every segments in this stage where you just rush through throng of enemies - idk, just hits me good for some reason. Dice Palace was quite meh tho, i didn't like how some encounters were like completely free, while others were just overwhelmingly hard. References are good tho. Boss was quite funny, even tho i think it can be more creative
And then comes final stage or should i say Backstage. Okay, seriously now, despite this being normal fangame in terms of mechanics, this stage fucking GOATED. Every single screen here was absolutely insanely cool. If i need to describe perfect adventure stage, this will be it. I can't say anything bad about it, it was just great journey. Traps are not annoying and delivers it right, variety is awesome and gameplay is fun - what can you wish over than that even?
Not only stage was that great, but the final boss - infamous Guy returns - was... okay, this was probably the best fangame boss i've ever encountered. And i didn't exaggerate this i think, i just feel like this is actually fucking closest thing as i imagine perfect adventure boss of this kind can be. With great amount of variety and interesting attacks, with actually tone of callbacks to fangames classic, with atmosphere of epic fight, with good final final segment - this was fantastic. It brings me really light emotions to think about this boss, and that's how i determinate masterpiece. Thank you, makers, for making this
And the ending was great conclusion after all
So yeah, i just had insane fun with this game. I wish it can be more interesting in first three stages and in Gunstar stage, but hey, i can't really complain excessively. I better just will say thank you, Cherry Treehouse team for one of the most unique and solid fangame adventure i will possible ever played. The borders of possible in fangames and plank of quality will never be the same, and that's what i really love about this

Ok so... uhhhh. How to start even. This game is surely something. In general if i need to describe this game - it's very very fucking cryptic and awkward. Let's start with something slitghly more bearable - platforming. So this game consists of 4 stages that you can access from hub and then final stage. Pretty much entirety of platforming in this games is very faded, it has bunch of forgettable traps (one screen with triggers was actually quite based and there is wraping maze at some point) and so on. But one exact thing makes platforming kinda interesting - maker puts A FUCKING LOT of secret items in this game. They are mainly hided behind fake walls, which is definitely a moment, and it's quite funny - trying to grab as much as you can during playthrough. Unfortunately, this secret items (they are all looking like some idols) seems to not do anything, maybe they unlock something, but they are not required for any% clear. So yeah, this is just stupid, but enjoyable filler
And now we descend deeply in hell. Bosses of this game is not just ?, they are fucking ???????????????????????. So 4 stages from hub - each has one boss. First boss that i killed - is fun Miku thing, actually like best boss in the game, and it goes that way - you shot Big Miku and she disintegrates on like 100 small Miku that will goes all over the screen. Not that hard as it sound, and it was enjoyable. Second boss that i killed was some dragon or idk, but this thing has a lot of fucking HP, and the thing is you need to shoot in exact hitbox, if you shoot in boss in other place it will punishes you with producing a ton of projectiles
And so with this boss the main fucking issue appears with this game - every boss has a LOT of HP. Not just many, but a fucking huge amount of it. 100 HP is like average index for this game, let me tell you. This dragon boss was at least not that hard, because it becomes hard only if you misses your shot. But the next two bosses are way more cursed. So third boss - triple A. Three symboles "A" will protect small thing, that is your target. If you accidentally shoot one of the A, they will punish you in same way as dragon boss does. But the thing is, unlike previous boss, layout of this boss is way harder to deal with. Symboles will also constantly protect main boss from shooting by basically covering it. So yeah, have fun, trying to killing this bitch. I ended up figuring out some interesting strat (Reveal Spoileri just drop down to boss itself, which i don't think is intended, but it was way easier overall, even tho not free, since cycles are kinda bruh and boss produces bounce circle burst sometimes, which is meh), but it was still painful as fuck
But not as much as next boss! So fourth boss is actually pit of garbage. If previous ones were at least somewhat redeemable, then meet this fucker. So this boss is just you going through the whole screen 25+ times and shooting 4 triggers per loop, that will damage the boss. Boss will kinda defend himself by producing circle bursts and aiming apples, that can be destroyed, and that's all. It's absolutely boring as fuck fight and while playing this you will be question yourself, why do you even bother to playing that. But if you think this is nightmare, then i have really bad news for you
Because after this and dealing with final stage, there will be another boss that has enormous HP and it will be also fucking hard! Ok, so the positive is, it at least will be kinda fun. The negative is the fight will drive you crazy, because if you are not counting nerd, you will be never know how far you are, because, oh yeah, i forgot to mention - NONE OF THIS BOSS HAS FREAKING HP BAR. Anyways, this boss itself is heavily inspired by HeavenTrap Kid in Destination (you shot - boss attacks in reply) it seems, but it's way harder, because not only various complex attacks, but every attack will also spawn yellow bounces, that are bounces in some crazy way, that can't be even described
If you insane like me, you will beat it eventually. But it will still be not over. The final challenge appears - Final Boss, some old dude, which will be also pretty hard, and guess what - he has fucking DOUBLE HP as previous one. The fight tho will be very similar in style, while attack are different; for example instead of bounces there will be very annoying wind, that can completely blow you - so my advice is not be greedy if you feel like you late. There will be also some unpleasant shenanigans during the fight, and the only like blessed thing is sometimes you will be granted by opportunity to do crucial damage on boss
So as you can see this game goes completely fucking out of rails with bosses. I kinda honestly appreciated how maker actually make such bullshit without letting you even cheezed with autofire (since even despite bosses doesn't have iframes, don't forget they are attacking you in reply, so 5+ shots and you will be dead guaranteed). This is overall a truly journey for only who have a lot of patience. If you didn't mind those kind of things, this even might be somewhat of hidden gem. But if you more on eager side, then welcome to abyss

Based on 100 % clear. So this game contains of hub with 2 stages, one of the stage based on "platforms" that push you momentum, and second stage based on water 1... yeah. This stages weren't that bad, bosses of them were also pretty alright, and overall this wasn't tricky
Then game gives you third stage, which is way longer than first two, and way harder. It was pretty solid stage, tbh, it's mixes both gimmicks from first stages in somewhat good way, but at the end it becomes long saves with overwhelming trap hell, so it wasn't that smooth. Then comes final boss, which was quite not hard, since i literally first tried it (it was also quite good for what it looks)
(So for any% difficulty is somewhat ~55)
Then game gives you EX warp, which leads to EX stage. This stage is just some chill outline needle, absolutely nothing hard. But then, oh man, it gives you really hard avoidance, that based on K3 intro song full version. During avoidance many instagibs will happen, also this avoidance has pretty unique layout and sometimes gradius ships will fly around in addition to overall madness. I kinda liked this avoidance, but there was some issues through, like there was one pretty luck-based attack that ruins fun and also closer to the end there was kinda insane aiming shit, that i absolutely have no idea how i passed it, lol. Fortunately, you can saw attacks in this avoidance while being dead, which is quite good, so i first tried everything after that
Anyways, overall this avoidance was very mid at best. The game itself is not really shiny, but it was still enjoyable in general

Somewhat of hidden gem. There's 3 stages in this game, all of them are heavily relied on trap platforming. First stage is easy and doesn't contain any gimmicks, but second and third becomes way harder and brings additional gimmicks (like moving blocks and mini-avoidance segments) in gameplay. Overall platforming was alright, tbh, considering this is like very heavy trap-oriented stuff. Maybe some saves in third stage were kinda rough, but that's all issues that i've had
Bosses were... strange. First boss is very easy as well as stage before him. Second boss is not long and chill avoidance with interesting mix of patterns and RNG, i quite enjoyed it. Third boss is variation of Big Kid, not that hard and not really unique, but decently okay. After Big Kid there's last thing in the game - final avoidance. It was somehow really painful for me, mostly because it's 100 % patterns and not like awesome patterns, but more instagibs and shit. And even more painful was that avoidance passes in water, so it was hurtful to execute every time (issue similar to inf jump) and also sometimes water just takes your jump for no reason, which is awful. So even despite this avoidance has catchy music and interesting atmosphere and ambient, it was definitely not great
But still the game was spectacular. You didn't really often meet something completely hidden on this site, that will be like decently unique and enjoyable. So i can recommend this
